Ex-Thatcham Town boss heads back to Abingdon United

The former Thatcham boss says he is refreshed and ready for work

Yashwa Romeo is back in the game after accepting a new position at Combined Counties League Premier Division North Abingdon United.

Having most recently spent several seasons in the Southern League as First Team manager at Thatcham Town, Romeo will become Assistant Manager to Jules McCalmon at Northcourt Road. McCalmon is a former Abingdon player and was appointed first team manager at the beginning of September.

In as statement, the club said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Yashwa Romeo as our new First Team Assistant Manager.

“He featured for United as a player alongside the likes of Maidenhead United, Slough Town and Oxford City before most recently leading Thatcham Town as manager.”

The club also confirmed players Aaron Woodley Pablo Haysham will combined their playing roles with coaching dutires.

Romeo wrote on social media: “It’s good to be back at one of my old stomping grounds, recharged, and ready for work”.
