Aimee Claypole has Chelsea contract extended

Berkshire-born striker Aimee Claypole has earned another year to impress at FA WSL champions Chelsea after the club exercised an option to extend her contract.

The England under-19 international spent last season on loan in Sweden with Linkoping and then was nominated for Women’s Championship Player of the Season for the second half of the campaign spent with Durham.

19-year-old Claypole came through Chelsea’s Academy and has made three appeaarances off the bench for the first team in the WSL and Women’s FA Cup.

She scored five times last season as Durham finished fourth behind promoted London City Lionesses, Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic.
