Two of Bracknell Town’s longest serving players have hit personal appearance milestones with the club in early 2025.

The Southern League Premier Division South side is pushing for a play-off spot in the Step 3 division, as they have consistently been since their elevation from Step 4 in the summer of 2022.

Two players that have been key to that level of consistency – and the Isthmian League South Central Division One win in 2022 are goalkeeper Michael Eacott and midfielder Max Herbert.

Between them the pair have wracked up 350 appearances for the club including iconic Robins FA Cup fixtures against Ipswich Town and Cambridge United – as well as that all important league winners medal.

Both leaders in the side, Eacott is currently the captain while Herbert has worn the armband – notably during the Covid affected seasons.

Bracknell manager Jon Underwood is himself familiar with longevity as a player for the Robins having made hundreds of appearances himself during the 2000s, and speaking to Football in Berkshire said of Eacott and Herbert: “Both players have been, and continue to be, fantastic servants to the club, and have played a huge part in the club’s successes in recent seasons. Two great lads who I see as among the best in the league in their respective positions and I’m so pleased to have them in my squad!”

Eacott’s 150th appearance was celebrated by the club after the game against Gloucester City in late January while Herbert ticked over to 200 games at the start of 2025.

Michael Eacott became a Robin in September 2021 joining from Sutton Common Rovers as the Robins endured a goalkeeping injury crisis during the early part of the 21/22 season. Eacott would go on to secure the number one shirt from crowd favourite Mark Scott.

Writing on his Twitter account to Sutton supporters at the time, Eacott said: “Can’t thank Sutton Common Rovers enough for the past 3-4 years. Been a pleasure to captain the side to promotion into step 4. Some unbelievable people behind the scenes that go above and beyond. Me and my family will always be grateful.”

Herbert joined Bracknell originally in January 2018 on a dual registration from Ashford Town (Middlesex). According to a Football in Berkshire report at the time of his signing: “Herbert is a left back by trade but equally at home in central midfield and on the wing according to the Ashford website and joined the Tangerines initially on loan from Brentford and has also spent time with Wycombe Wanderers.”

In addition played 19 times for American University side Lynn Fighting Knights last season and earned National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-Tournament recognition.
