Ascot United captain Dan Bailey marked a milestone appearance on Tuesday night with progress in the Velocity Cup.

Bailey made his 150th Yellas appearance in the Isthmian League Cup competition – a 2-1 win at home to Sutton Common Rovers.

Bailey’s Ascot career has been marked but significant successes including an FA Vase win at Wembley Stadium and a Combined Counties League Premier Division title win having joined the club during the 2020/21 season.

Speaking after Bailey’s 150th appearance, manager Jamie Tompkins said to the club’s official website: “I was particularly impressed with Dan’s performance against a lively attack and on his 150th game for the club. As our captain, he was a defensive rock and handled a challenging forward line comfortably. Overall, I’m delighted with Dan’s and the team’s performance and we can look forward to Saturday’s FA Trophy game against Margate.”

Ascot are back in action on Saturday when Isthmian League South East Division One Margate visit in the FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round.
