Combined Counties League Division One Langley have announced the departure of Max Johnson as manager of the club.

A statement released on the club website hailed Johnson’s impact saying ‘he gave us his all’.

The club have endured a difficult start to the 2024/25 campaign with a record of three wins, a draw and five defeats from the opening nine games as well as a heavy 5-0 defeat away to Step 5 Bedfont Sports in the FA Vase.

The statement said: “Max joined Langley FC with a vision to lead the team to new heights. From day one, he dedicated himself fully to the role, bringing energy, determination, and a relentless drive to succeed. His influence extended beyond the pitch, as he worked tirelessly to instil a strong team spirit and a sense of unity within the squad.

“During his tenure, Max faced numerous challenges, but his resolve never wavered. Always pushing his players to give their best and never settling for mediocrity. His attention to detail and ability to inspire the team were evident in every match, whether in victory or defeat.

“One of the standout qualities of Max’s leadership was his deep connection to the club’s identity. Max didn’t just manage the team; he became a part of the Langley legacy. Wearing the Old Boys’ badge with pride, he embodied the values and traditions that have long defined Langley FC.

“As Max steps down, we want to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude. He gave us his all — both on and off the field — and his contributions have left a lasting impact on the club. We are thankful for his dedication, hard work, and the countless hours he invested in making Langley FC the best he could.

“While we are saddened to see Max leave, we are also excited to see what the future holds for him. We do not doubt that he will achieve great success in his career, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future.”

On Twitter, the club also confirmed that Johnson’s management team had left the club.
