Ex Reading FC captain Alex Pearce to lead Bracknell Town

Robins have confirmed their interim management team, with a former Premier League and Reading FC defender in charge.

Following the departure of Jordan Ive from Bottom Meadow, Bracknell Town have confirmed their interim management team will include a stalwart former captain and a former Premier League defender.

Ex-Reading FC captain Alex Pearce has been placed in caretaker charge and will lead the side against Havant & Waterlooville at Bottom Meadow on Saturday. He will be assisted by former Robins captain Max Herbert and Adam Richards.

A club official confirmed the interin appointments and told Football in Berkshire that Bracknell were aiming to have a new manager in place within a week.

The club have additionally confirmed Jordan Esprit has departed to join up with former boss Bobby Wilkinson at Hemel Hempstead Town. Great Evans has also announced his departure from the club.

The Robins meanwhile have launched a recruitment process as they begin the search for a new manager. The club shared on Social Media: “Following Jordan Ive’s decision to step down from his role, we are now accepting applications for the vacant First Team Manager position at Bracknell Town Football Club. Candidates should send their CV via email to: operations@bracknelltownfc.com, by 7pm Sunday 8th September.”
