Hungerford Town have launched a new shirt sponsorship initiative backed by former Queens Park Rangers and Southampton striker Charlie Austin.

The Southern League Premier Division South side have three prizes on offer in the draw which includes a gala dinner hosted by the ex-Premier League striker on Friday 12th July at Donnington Grove.

The Crusaders Commercial Manager and supporter Samuel Liddiard told Football in Berkshire: “We launched the raffle as a way to engage local businesses and there’s no better person to show how important community clubs are around here than Charlie Austin.

“Charlie is a regular at Bulpit Lane when he is not playing and just gets how important non-league football is to communities having made his name in the lower echelons of the pyramid.”

Hungerford-born Austin played for the Crusaders in 2007, also featuring for other West Berkshire sides like Kintbury Rangers and Thatcham Town before flying up the leagues to represent Swindon Town, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion.

Entry to the raffle is £750 with prizes on offer including:

  • First Prize: Main home shirt sponsor
  • Second Prize: Main away shirt sponsor
  • Third prize: Shorts home and away sponsor

Liddiard confirmed all entries would receive one entry into the draw which will be made by Austin, a pitch side advertising board for the season, tickets to the gala dinner and match day hospitality packages.

If interested in being part of the draw, contact sponsorship@hungerfordtown.com to enter. More details on the full packages on offer can be found at www.hungerfordtown.com
