Yateley United have an England international in their ranks after long-serving Dawn Perry-Lewis was called up to the England Deaf Squad.

Yateley’s longest-serving player in the women’s team, Dawn has played 64 times for the club in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

A statement on the Yateley United website said: “We are delighted and extremely proud to share that our very own Dawn Perry-Lewis has been selected in the England Deaf Women’s Football Squad for the upcoming 2023 World Football Championships in Malaysia.”

In order to make the championships, the team had to raise £50,000 to fund the trip with donations from the likes of Steven Gerrard, Gary Neville and Gary Lineker.

The competition is due to start in Kuala Lumpur on the 20th September 2023. Follow @GB_DeafFootball to find out more.
