West Berkshire side AFC Aldermaston have confirmed they will remain as tenants at Thatcham Town and have accepted the sideways move to the Wessex League.

The Atom Men had initially protested the move from the Combined Counties League where they face a number of fellow Berkshire sides. Ironically the club’s acceptance has been rewarded with an early midweek trip to Bournemouth in the League Cup.

On the continued ground share at the Stacatruc Stadium, a statement said: “We are pleased to announce we will be continuing our ground share agreement with Thatcham Town for season 2023-24. We look forward to continuing our relationship with all the staff at Thatcham for the season ahead. Thanks lads”.

The draw for the 2023/24 First Round of the Wessex League Cup has paired Aldermaston with Bournemouth FC (Poppies), while the winners will go on to face Blackfield & Langley in the Second Round.
