Southern League Premier Division South side Hartley Wintney have appointed former Sandhurst Town boss Ian Selley as their new manager.

‘The Row’ have appointed Selley – a European Cup Winners Cup winner with Arsenal in 1994 – to succeed Ross Weatherstone and Tyrone Newton who departed at the end of October.

Hartley Wintney are currently 19th in the division with Anthony Millerick and former Leatherhead manager Luke Tuffs as well as Steve Noakes taking over caretaker charge.

Selley, previously boss at Combined Counties League Sandhurst and more recently Isthmian League Division One Chertsey Town, picked up a win in his first game in charge, a 2-1 win over Hanwell Town but saw defeat at the weekend at the hands of Tiverton Town.

Writing on the club’s website, Director of Football Millerick said: “It’s the start of a new chapter for the football club. Ian is taking charge of a good group of players, but work needs to be done to get us where we should be, and that work has already started.”
