Football fans are being warned to be aware of possible scammers in the run-up to Bracknell Town’s FA Cup First Round match against Ipswich Town.

The Robins will play arguably the biggest fixture in the club’s history on Monday 7th November when EFL League One side and former UEFA Cup winners Ipswich Town come to Berkshire for a First Round Proper tie that will also be broadcast live on ITV4.

Football in Berkshire though has discovered that, concerningly, tickets for the match are already being offered for sale through social media – before the club has released them to the public.

One seller has offered two tickets for £55 with payment requested in Bitcoin.

Ricky Simons, Bracknell Town’s club secretary, said: “I’d urge everyone to be extremely vigilant when buying tickets, and to only buy directly from the club.”

He added that ticketing arrangements for the match are being publicised through the club’s official website and its official social media channels.
