It was a good opening month of the season for Binfield who find themselves second in the early running in the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division One.

The Moles have started strongly with three wins and a draw in the league and two wins in the FA Cup, conceding just one goal in the process.

All that has led to Binfield’s number one, Chris Grace, earning the opening ‘Golden Glove’ award for the 2022/23 season.

Announcing the news on the official Isthmian League website, a post said: “There were very few holes in the Moles defence during August. With three clean sheets from four games- and only one goal conceded in the other- Binfield are deservedly flying high in Pitching In Isthmian South Central. Again, we don’t take such things into account, but they also won in the FA Cup without conceding a goal, so that’s four clean sheets out of five. Chris Grace has been between the posts, and Moles fans will want to change his name to Amazing!”

The award, sponsored by AB1 Goalkeeping, is issued to a ‘keeper in each of the Isthmian League’s four divisions with Grace deemed the South Central Division One’s premier stopper.
