There’s been a change in the dugout at Isthmian League Thatcham Town with Yashwa Romeo replacing Jamie Leacock.
A statement by the club said: “It is with great regret that we have come to this decision but the last few weeks have been disappointing. We would like to thank Jamie for all his hard work in rebuilding a team under very difficult
conditions.”
Legendary former Maidenhead United and Marlow striker Romeo has taken over the hot seat having most recently been with Reading City and Northwood.
Romeo’s first game in charge sees his Kingfishers side travel to Isthmian League South Central Division One strugglers Staines Town.
Romeo said in a social media post: “First and foremost I want say thank you to Jamie for supporting me and understanding my decision to take the role.
“On to the football and I can’t wait to get started tomorrow in a must win game for the club.”
Back in June 2019, Football in Berkshire ran an interview with Yashwa following his decision to join Reading City as player / assistant manager. You can read that in full here.
