Hungerford Town’s Matt Berry-Hargreaves is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Player of the Season (Male) sponsored by Grundon Waste Management.
Regularly one of the Crusaders top appearance makers each season, Berry-Hargreaves has played 37 times this time out in the Southern League Premier Division South.
The nomination received for the award said: “As a centre-back, Matt has been a standout player all season. His consistency, composure, and reading of the game set him apart from everyone else on the pitch. Week in, week out, he delivers commanding performances, leading by example and giving everything for the badge.
“Beyond his ability, Matt’s connection with the fans makes him even more special. No matter the result, he always takes the time to come over and applaud the supporters, showing genuine appreciation. That respect has made him a firm fan favourite.
“It’s also clear how much support he has behind him, with his sister Eloise attending games both home and away, thanks to the dedication of their dad driving her to matches. That strong family backing reflects the character and commitment Matt brings to the club.
“In a challenging season, Matt has been a constant, standing out above the rest, and showing qualities that suggest he could easily play at a higher level.
“For his performances, professionalism, and connection with supporters, Matt Berry-Hargreaves is a truly deserving Player of the Season.”
