Uhlsport Hellenic League side Wallingford Town have won their appeal against being placed in the competitions step 6 division next season.

Previously a Division One East side playing the likes of Woodley United, Kidlington and Wokingham & Emmbrook, the club were retained in the Hellenic but in Division One without the East / West split.

That change meant Wally would be the Eastern most point in the competition and face multiple away days to Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

BBC Three Counties Radio’s Ollie Bayliss has confirmed though, the clubs appeal, along with those of Ardley United, Easington Sports and others, has been upheld.

It is unclear which league the club will be moved to, but the club have expressed a preference for Combined Counties League Division One where most of their Berkshire based former opponents now play.

The 20 team Hellenic Division One will now be short at least two teams after Abingdon Town resigned.
