Uhlsport Hellenic League side Wallingford Town have appealed their league placement ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The Oxfordshire club, managed by Glenn Goudie, have been placed in Division One of the Hellenic League where they are the most Easterly side in a division that stretches as far as Herefordshire according to BBC Three Counties Radio’s Ollie Bayliss.

Bayliss says the club have lodged an appeal as they would prefer to join the raft of sides including Woodley United, Langley, Chalvey Sports and AFC Aldermaston that were moved into the Combined Counties League Division One.

Wallingford are one of a number of clubs to lodge appeals including Amersham Town who also want to move to the Combined Counties League while Easington Sports and Hellenic stalwarts Ardley United would prefer to be placed in the United Counties League, according to Bayliss.
