Many who follow the Thames Valley Premier League will have noticed that many of Wraysbury FC’s midweek fixtures have taken place at Staines Town’s Wheatsheaf Park. This week the club have confirmed that they intend the move to be permanent and will play all their Thames Valley Premier League fixtures at the venue next season.

Staines Town, who play in the Isthmian League South Central and will face Binfield, Bracknell Town and Thatcham next season are currently managed by former Windsor boss Mick Woodham. They once shared their ground with Chelsea Women however, that groundsharing agreement came to an end when Chelsea moved to play at Kingsmeadow in 2017.

Wraysbury Village had been playing their home fixtures at Wraysbury Memorial Ground and will be leaving the county of Berkshire when they take residence in Staines. Despite the move out of the county it’s still only a short trip of three miles to Wheatsheaf Park from Wraysbury.

Wraysbury have had a mixed season and are currently in 9th place in the Thames Valley Premier League. The new floodlit venue could make the club eligible for promotion to Step 6 if they perform well in the 2021/2022 season.
