The AFC Crowthorne Ladies team

Division Three East of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League are set to lose a team as AFC Crowthorne Ladies announced via their social media accounts that the team had folded on Wednesday 1st of July.

The statement reads: “Despite all efforts to recruit for the 2020/21 season, retaining players and gaining new ones has been particularly challenging for AFC Crowthorne Ladies this year.

“Berkshire is lucky to have such a huge variety of teams available to all the talented women within the county, however, along with the bad weather at the beginning of the year and the current coronavirus pandemic, this has taken its toll and sadly, management has taken the difficult decision to fold AFC Crowthorne Ladies.

“The team have had a turbulent first year in existence and despite this, a dedicated core of players turned up week in, week out to give it their all in the incredibly competitive Division 3E of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League

“Management would like to take this chance to thank all the players, previous management and supporters for their time and effort and wish everyone good luck for the future.”
