Football in Berkshire’s Womens’ Football correspondent Abi Ticehurst takes a look back at the 2019/20 season, speaking to representatives of every Berkshire club.
Some answers to her burning questions from Coach, Dan Hooper and team captain Ashleigh Boobyer of Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League side AFC Crowthorne Ladies.
What’s the best thing about playing/working for the club?
Ashleigh – The social club after the games as they are always friendly and makes you feel a part of the community.
Dan – Working with the girls and coaching.
What’s been your favourite moment at the club?
Ashleigh – Gaining our first point on the table with hardly any players!
Dan – Coming close to winning our first game.
What are you doing during this extended break to keep yourself on top of your game both on and off the pitch?
Ashleigh – Drinking wine…. no, kicking a ball in the garden in the evenings.
Dan – Watching training videos to get ideas for when we are back.
