The latest images from Ascot United’s Racecourse Ground redevelopment show the pitch has now been completely removed.
Work started over the last week or so to remove the pitch and install a new state of the are artificial surface.
Diggers have been busy this week at Ascot removing the old pitch and preparing the area at the ground.
On Wednesday, Football in Berkshire published several images showing the work was underway. Since then though we understand the grass surface has now been completely removed.
A post on the clubs website revealed that the pitch should be ready by the end of September: “After months of delay for legal and technical reasons, SIS, the main contractors moved on to our Racecourse Ground this morning to begin construction of our new 3G full size pitch which we hope to take responsibility for by the end of September.”
In January, the club were granted planning permission by Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Council and secured funding in March for the installation.
