There’s been quite a bit written and posted in the last 24 hours around Aylesbury and the confirmation the Southern League club would be relegated at the end of the season.

The Evo Stik Southern League Division One Central side are unable to meet the 31st March deadline to increase the size of the clubs dressing rooms to 18 square metres according to a BBC report and as a result will be relegated to step 5 of the English Football Pyramid.

According to the BBC report: ‘ The FA wrote to a number of non-league clubs on the issue in October but say notice of the change was given in 2014, and clubs can apply for up to 70% of the funding for any work through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund.’

Of course, Bracknell Town’s Larges Lane ground was refurbished in 2016 and opened again for football in November 2016.

Football in Bracknell spoke to chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse about the Robins own ground compliance.

He said: “Larges Lane is compliant as a ground. We have a final inspection booked for February.”

“We are also in a position to take promotion if we get it at the end of the season.” he added.

Mr Steinborn-Busse confirmed that a new roof recently added to a standing area down the near side of the pitch was just an improvement on the old stand in place.

Bracknell’s next visitors to Larges Lane are Cheshunt on Saturday in the Bostik League South Central Division.
