Two new young referees have been awarded a bursary to assist with their development at Woodley United thanks to a fund setup in memory of a former Reading referee.

The two recently qualified officials Jay Winnett and Fin Ward were presented by Ken Clark, the President of Reading Referees’ Association with bursaries from the East Berks Football Alliance Gary Stevenson Referee Development Fund at Woodley United’s Managers’ meeting on 8th January 2018.

Gary, who died in 2009, was a referee and involved with Winnersh Rangers and Reeves Rangers and the fund is used to support newly qualified referees.
