Bracknell Town have released their pre-season friendly schedule for the 2017/18 on twitter and it contains nine matches that include a great mix of higher level sides, plus a few interesting local derbies.

The first game of pre-season kicks off on Tuesday 4th July as Conference South side Hungerford Town visit Larges Lane. Hungerford finished a very respectable 6th in the division last season, just missing out on a playoff place and will provide a very strong opening test for the Robins.

Across the two weekends 8/9 July & 17/18 July a four team tournament will take place at Larges Lane between hosts Bracknell Town, Binfield, Wokingham & Emmbrook and Windsor. As well as facing their Reading Cup semi-final opposition Wokingham, they’ll also play their Reading Cup Final opposition Binfield. It will also be an opportunity to reacquaint themselves with Windsor before they join the Hellenic Premier League next season.

On Thursday 20th July Bracknell will make the short (but relatively familiar) trip to north Maidenhead to face Holyport at Summerleaze. Aside from the game versus Wokingham it’s the only friendly Bracknell have arranged against lower league opposition.

Terry Brown will bring his Basingstoke Town side up the M3 to Larges Lane on 22nd July for a friendly match. Basingstoke finished mid-table in the Southern League Premier Division last season and will provide another tough test.

Tuesday 25th July sees another Larges Lane friendly for Bracknell Town as they host Chalfont St. Peter. The Saints play in Southern League Central and finished 18th out of 22 last season.

A trip for the Robins to Fleet Town on Saturday 29th July concludes Bracknell’s pre-season schedule. It’s another game against higher-league opposition with Fleet, like Chalfont, playing in the Southern League Central. Last season they finished 14th. In 2014 Bracknell played a friendly at Fleet coming away with a 2-2 draw.
