McNelly – who was announced as the new man at the top on Monday night after Dan Bateman and Matt Eggleston decided to step down, said he felt the demotion was a case of ‘one step back to go three steps forward’, referencing the planning application with Wokingham Borough Council to erect floodlights and a main stand at Lowther Road

Application

The Sumas have applied for the following at their Lowther Road ground in Emmbrook: Full application for the proposed erection of a grandstand, pitch flood lighting, car park, 1.85 metre high timber fence and artificial turf footpath.

McNelly was appointed on Monday night following the Sumas Reading Senior Cup exit at Binfield, but the News has reported that both Bateman and Eggleston will remain on the scene to assist McNelly on matchdays.
