It took 120 minutes but Binfield eventually won their Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Challenge Cup tie at home to Woodley United thanks to an extra time Gary Smith strike at Hill Farm Lane.

Both sides were evenly matched in the fixture with Danny Horscroft going close for Woodley and James Knight hitting the post for Binfield in the first half.

The second half saw youngster Charley Tuttle denying Woodley a certain goal with a great interception in the six yard box and the game duly moved in to extra time.

Binfield took advantage in the first period of extra time through Smith who’s goal was enough to send Roger Herridge’s side in to the Second Round.
