All the ‘talk’ of new owners, investors and the like can’t take away from the inescapable fact that Burnham are seriously struggling, and Ascot United’s Ben Knight took full advantage in a 7-2 win.

The Yellamen led 2-0 at the break, one through Knight after 28 minutes and another from Aaron Berry who got two himself.

Burnham pulled one back after the break but two in three minutes from Knight made it game over at 4-1.

It was 4-2 on seventy minutes but from then on United stormed away with three more before full time. Knights fourth, Berry’s second and one for Thomas Hedges finished things off.

We can officially classify Knight as ‘free scoring’ after the forward hit a hat trick in Saturday’s win over Tuffley Rovers.
