“It’s been a crazy few days for us. We’re obviously very excited to have a packed Racecourse Ground and we should beat the clubs attendance record.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity for Ascot United against an EFL club, testing ourselves against pros. We understand from a local press article (here) there may be a few Wycombe Wanderers first-teamers in the team tonight [Gareth Ainsworth has suggested Jack Grimmer, Jack Wakley, David Wheeler and maybe Brandon Hanlan will all feature].

“It’s going to be a huge test for us.

“I’ve not met Gareth Ainsworth before. I’m keen to have a sit-down and a chat with him after we’ve beaten them and hopefully I can do that. In all seriousness, he’s the Football League’s second longest-serving manager, he’s been managing at a high-level for nine years now I think at Wycombe. He’s a top guy from everything I’ve seen and heard.”

The long throw – team news

“Yes, the Chris Ellis long-throw will undoubtedly be in action tonight, it will happen and everyone wants to see it happen. Taylor Morgan is back after suspension, he’s got a lot of experience and played at a high level.”

On the big crowd

“It’s a massive achievement for us to get this far. We’ve competed against and beaten teams from a higher division already, Wycombe are of course that bit higher but we’re going to give it a good go.

“I hope the crowd make a lot of noise! There’s going to be plenty of them that’s for sure. It’s all about the occasion for us tonight.

“If we did win, it’d be brilliant if the final was at Ascot, you’d be playing either MK Dons or Reading FC so you’d not mind playing at their places either. Reality is we’d just love to get there, but first things first!”
