Bracknell Town manager Geoff Warner has provided an update on the squad at Larges Lane which is set to be tested when the Robins head to Bedfont Sports on Saturday in the Bostik League South Central Division One.
It will be a first away game for Warner’s side in three matches and the Robins boss was keen to update supporters on the state of the squad going in to the weekend.
Speaking to Football in Bracknell, Warner confirmed that defender Liam Eagle, signed from Southern League Hartley Wintney had left the club but striker Gavin James was still very much a part of his plans.
On James, Warner said: “Gavin is injured. He tried to come back before but he just needs to rest. He’s going to be out for two or three weeks.”
Loanees
Bracknell Town have a number of players out ‘on loan’ with Hellenic League clubs including Max Herbert at Badshot Lea, Ellis Day at Wokingham & Emmbrook and Dan Roberts and Kane Fitzgerald at Windsor.
Warner said he was very pleased all four were playing regularly, and particularly in the case of Roberts starring for their respective clubs.
Warner said: “I spoke to Dan a few weeks ago. I’m really pleased for him, he needed games and he’s getting great experience there with Mick Woodham.”
When asked about Windsor fans fears Roberts might be recalled to Larges Lane, Warner said: “No, he’s getting exactly what he needs at Windsor, which is games at a high level every week.”
Another player out on loan, goalkeeper Chris Grace played for Binfield on Monday but Warner confirmed he would be in goal for Bracknell on Saturday.
New signings
On the possibility of players coming in to Larges Lane, Warner said the club had put in an approach for a player but it had come to nothing.
He added that Elliott Legg had returned from the USA but is currently out injured after an operation in October.
