Tuesday night was a prestigious one in the 120+ year history of Bracknell Town Football Club as it’s newly refurbished facility was re-opened with a terrific local derby between the Robins and neighbours Binfield in front of a big crowd numbering 476.
On the night it was Joe Grant scoring the first goal and Kensley Maloney scoring the winner that took the plaudits, but off the pitch our man Mark Pugh spoke to the driving force behind the redevelopment – Bracknell chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse.
Mr Steinborn-Busse (pictured above left) spoke about his ‘sleepless night’ before the ground grading a week ago and praised the project team behind the development for their work which he said had been completed in ‘no time at all’.
Kayne also commented on the big crowd he expected (and duly got) for the opening of the ground saying: “I’ve had a lot of people messaging me, people who don’t come to football saying they’ll be up to buy me a beer.
“If they all turn up, I don’t think I’ll be standing!”
