Which Wokingham & Emmbrook star scored all four goals in a circa summer 2000 pre season friendly for FC Fernhill?

You don’t have to look to far (front row, first on the left) to spot the cheeky smile of the current Satsuma’s captain and former Reading Town, Bracknell Town and Marlow midfielder Sam Lawrence.

The image, from a copy of the Wokingham Times in 2000 reads:

FC Fernhill played a pre-season friendly against Frogmore Rovers on Saturday and emerged with a good 4-1 victory.

All four goals were scored by Sam Whiting.

On Sunday they won the plate competition at the Calcot Parish Council Charity tournament beating Theale Tigers 1-0 in the final.

The goalscorer was again Sam Whiting.

This was a great team effort by all the players over both days, and provided a good run-up for the new season.

FC Fernhill would like to thank their main sponsors Fernhill Travel and James S Moss Building contractors.
