We had three goals for Sandhurst Town at the weekend which meant after missing the opening weekend, the Fizzers goal gifs were back with a bang.

Also this week, we have travellers causing a late postponement and an appeal for willing mascot at an Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club.

It’s tweets of the week! Seen something that should be in tweets of the week? Email it to editor@footballinbracknell.co.uk or tag @fiberkshire on that twitter.

Goal gifs

Sandhurst have some history with inventive goal gifs. We published a whole article on them at the end of last season which you can see here.

The Fizzers were back at it at the weekend with a 3-2 win over Kensington & Ealing Borough. Mitchel Cooper’s below is going to take some beating but we look forward to seeing what’s next. As long as it’s not more Patrick Gardner..

There’s clearly a budget for these as well as this first one would have cost the club an absolute fortune in mosquito spray.

An unusual postponement

In a previous life, some of the writers of Football in Berkshire were directors at Bracknell Town. We may have mentioned this a few times. We once had a pre season friendly called off at Eversley & California by the referee because there was to much goose poo on the pitch.

This is another level though, and not a short trip for Staines.

Pundits

Sometimes you go with your dad to the game don’t you? Sometimes you point the camera at him and ask him for his thoughts on the game (which in this case was Hungerford vs Slough).

Well, my dad just blurted out his favourite Porridge quote. Which made about as much sense as the weather on Tuesday night.

Dream job alert!

Do you dream of taking part in the mascot Grand National? Do you ache for touchline mischief? Do you yearn for a tail?

Then Reading City have the job for you! They are looking for an individual (or individuals) to take on the role of Lawsy the Lion, the City mascot who parades on the touchline during Uhlsport Hellenic League fixtures.

Festivals are bad kids

This one is from last week but it’s our feature okay!? Strong words from the Epsom & Ewell twitter account against missing players who were off enjoying themselves at some music festival or other.

Just wait until they hear about Reading Festival in a fortnight’s time. Depriving Berkshire non league managers of players since 1971.

I mean, at least they didn’t disappear at half time..
