..think again. The Hellenic League website has posted a story on the league’s oldest registered player and it’s not Windsor’s 46-year-old former Fulham and Bristol Rovers striker.

The man in question is referee and former Hellenic League committee member Brian Kirk who turned out for Abingdon Town on Tuesday night in a 4-1 defeat to Wallingford Town.

The Hellenic League website post says 63-year-old Kirk queried who the leagues oldest player was with the webmaster. The date of birth on Kirk’s registration form reads January 26th 1955.

According to the league website Kirk played in the game but as it stand the FA Full Time site has not been updated with the starting 11 and there are no match updates on twitter from the club. However Full Time does confirm Kirk as a registered player.

The match in question finished 4-1 with Charlie Silkstone scoring twice with a goal each for Euan Aitchinson and Ishmael Thomas scoring for Wallingford.

Wally recently added former AFC Aldermaston manager Kieran Jennings to their staff while Abingdon Town are without a chairman after Jayson Lyon resigned in a statement on the clubs facebook page.
