Wokingham & Emmbrook could be in for a bumper Hellenic League crowd

Could we see Berkshire non league fans flock to watch the Sumas?

There are no games in Berkshire on the opening day of the 2018/19 Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division season.

That fact could benefit Bracknell Town’s new tenants at Larges Lane who have yet to be given an opening day fixture according to the Full Time website.

Ordinarily we’d expect Division 1 East fixtures to start a week or two later than the Premier Division when it kicks off on Saturday 4th August but both Woodley United and Holyport have both been given fixtures on that date.

Slightly amusingly, not to mention helpfully for our little theory – both sides have been scheduled away fixtures.

All that could add up to a possible bumper gate for Wokingham & Emmbrook with Berkshire based non league fans perhaps choosing not to travel. The added fact that Bracknell Town don’t begin their Bostik League campaign until the following weekend is the icing on a cake of possibility for the Sumas.

That is of course if Wokingham are to have a fixture scheduled.
