Berks County vs Clevedon Town – FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on 4th August 2024
This week I visited The Racecourse Ground, home of Ascot United, for ground sharers Berks County’s first ever FA Cup tie. There’s a menu board on show outside the kitchen with probably the largest range of food available I’ve seen at a ground and I’ve been to a few!
On previous visits to Ascot I’ve always ordered their cheesy chips, which are extremely good but this time I fancied a bit of a change from the norm.
Their menu ranges from the usual burgers (with chicken and falafel options), hot dogs and nuggets, but also includes breakfast items, jacket potatoes with various fillings, the aforementioned cheesy chips, dirty fries, match day specials, with plenty of vegetarian options and all cooked to order.
I plumped for a match day special, a bowl of chicken curry for £7, which turned out to be a generous portion of delicious homemade mild creamy curry with large chunks of chicken breast, something I can see going down really well when the freezing cold match days come along!
Definitely a big thumbs up from me and well worth checking out their menu when you’re next at the Racecourse.
*All menu options are available for Berks County home games as well as Ascot United matches.
