Yateley United vs Camberley Town – Pre Season Friendly on 27th July 2024
After a chaotic journey I finally made it to Sean Devereaux Park – the home of Yateley United, hungry and thirsty on a hot, sunny day. Being a preseason game I wasn’t sure if they would be serving food but was pleased to see the kitchen was open. The menu included a hot dog at £2.50, a cheeseburger at £3 and a bacon cheeseburger at £3.50, all very reasonably priced and I’ve seen double the prices for a lot less on my football travels!
I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and the hotdog. I would have had fried onions on both but it seems you have to order them at the time, and, as this wasn’t mentioned while ordering, I had to do without but that’s something I’ll rectify on my next visit! The hot dog is a jumbo sausage in a large roll, with the burger being a quarter pounder, cheese and a bacon rasher in a brioche bun. Full condiments are also available so plenty of opportunity to cover your food in ketchup, mustard or whatever you fancy! I found both to be well cooked, very tasty and will take some beating on my travels this year for value for money!
