Barnard, Alexander, Devonshire: Great and good to descend on Wokingham Town for 150th anniversary celebration

Wokingham Town will celebrate 150 years in existence at the weekend with a huge celebration at Lowther Road including a football showcase, live music and culminating in ‘A Night to Remember’ with special guests Alan Devonshire and Phil Parkes.

Before all that, the Sumas will begin the 2025/26 FA Cup with a Friday night fixture at home to Bristol-based Western League side Brislington.

Dubbed ‘Party on the Pitch’, the real festivities will begin at midday on Sunday 3rd August through to 6pm with activities geared towards families including inflatables, live music and a football showcase.

Tickets for Party on the Pitch are priced at £10 for a family of four and can be purchased here.

‘A Night to Remember’ then. As well as Devonshire and Parkes headlining, you’ll also hear from a host of Sumas legends in attendance including former Chelsea and Wales international Darren Barnard, former player and ex-Crystal Palace Chief Executive Phil Alexander as well as Nicky Collier, Bobby Purser, Terry Brown, Wayne Wanklyn and Roger Herridge.

Guests will be treated to dinner and live Q&As as well plenty of anecdotes from on and off the pitch.

Tickets for A Night to Remember are priced at £25 per person and can be purchase here.
