The 2023 Cricket World Cup was a triumph for Australia as they beat India in their own backyard. If you looked closely enough at the Aussie bench you might just have spotted a little bit of Berkshire.

In August 2023 Ross Herridge took up the post of Physical Performance Coach for Australia having spent 10 years with Sydney Sixers and Cricket New South Wales.

In the 2000s however Ross was much more familiar with the playing surfaces of Berkshire’s non-league scene, working with Reading FC and playing for Wokingham & Emmbrook, Bracknell Town and Reading Town before an opportunity with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club saw him move north.

In the latest Berkshire Football Stories podcast, Ross tells how he went from Scours Lane to the World Cup Final.
