Windsor & Eton FC given place in Thames Valley Premier League

The new club will start at Step 7

The newly formed Windsor & Eton FC will play their debut season at Step 7 in the Thames Valley Premier League.

The new side – who will play their games at the famous Stag Meadow ground – have been handed a start in the TVPL Premier Division with immediate promotion to Step 6 undoubtedly the club’s aim.

Windsor & Eton were elected into the division at the Thames Valley Premier League AGM on Tuesday night and will face the likes of Finchampstead, Burghfield, Henley Town and Reading City u23s in their first season.

As it stands, promotion from Step 7 is applied for by clubs with only one team per Step 7 division going up. Teams granted promotion next season would need to finish above other clubs that may have also applied, and pass a ground grading inspection which undoubtedly Stag Meadow would. Crucially you do not need to win the division to get promoted.

The club, formed by former player and manager Mark Cooper along with Windsor Youth FC, will be lead into their first season by former Eversley & California boss Matty Angell.
