Ascot United’s Ollie Harris suffers season-ending injury

Harris will miss the rest of the Yellamen's season

Combined Counties League Premier Division North side Ascot United will be without one of their most influential players after Ollie Harris suffered a season-ending injury.

Harris confirmed the news on Twitter after the Yellamen had progressed to the FA Vase Fourth Round following a 4-0 win at home to Little Common.

Harris tweeted: “Just like that, season is done for me. ACL reconstruction on the way. Going to be a long journey but I’m ready for it. See you back on the pitch next season better than before.”

Ascot face a trip to Reading City on Tuesday night in a CCL top-of-the-table clash. The two Berkshire sides are in a two-horse race for promotion from Step 5 at the end of the season with City yet to be beaten in the league. A full list of all the weeks fixtures is here.
