Eversley & California boss Mathew Angell has been nominated for the Berkshire Football Awards in the Eddie Stobart Manager of the Season category.
The Boars boss has certainly had his work cut out but as things have moved on off the pitch at the club, he’s got them moving the right way on it as well.
One nomination received said: “The season Eversley & California have had under Matty this season is unbelievable compared to the last two seasons. Going through fighting to stay in the league the last two years to now fighting for a place in the play-offs! This shows how much hard work he has put into the team and how far everyone has come under his leadership. In my eyes this definitely deserves recognition.”
Another added: “Matty has taken a squad from the bottom of the league in the past two curtailed seasons and with no budget, he has transformed the way the squad plays and the results it has achieved. He may not have won a league title or a trophy but to take a team from the bottom of a league to competing for play-off positions is an extraordinary achievement! Let’s not forget a 14 win streak during the tough winter months as well!”
