Bracknell Town manager Bobby Wilkinson has been nominated for the Berkshire Football Award in the Eddie Stobart Manager of the Season category.
The former Hungerford Town and Wealdstone boss led Bracknell to a first league title since the 1990s when they won the Isthmian League South Central Division One with six games to spare.
Appointed in 2019, Wilkinson has had to deal with interrupted seasons but has become increasingly popular amongst the club’s supporters with a relentless brand of football that has seen the Robins top the table despite a number of injury setbacks to key players.
Among the nominations received for Wilkinson, one said: “The style of football his side play, the amount of energy that his sides show, the togetherness of his team all shows what an excellent job he has done to win the league, with 6 games remaining and by a massive number of points over the 2nd position in the league. There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is only one manager that deserves this prize and that’s Bobby Wilkinson.
Another added: “So much to say about this guy. Not only is he a lovely bloke but just look at the job he does in being a manager. No matter what club or standard of football he coaches the players will perform to the best they ever will. You just got to look at his record. A manager you definitely want at your club and without a doubt, he will see success and trophies. With Bobby’s passion you can see why the players want to play for him and perform so well. Congratulations on the league buddy! Plenty more to come.
A third simply added: “Not only have we have seen goals at Bracknell Town, we have seen his passion and commitment to the club resulting in my club getting promoted. Can’t thank him enough.”
