Wokingham & Emmbrook club secretary Anne-Louise Doe has been nominated for a Berkshire Football Award in the Supporters Trust at Reading (STAR) Volunteer of the Season category.
The Sumas secretary has been in post for nearly two years and has certainly made an impact at the club.
Of several nominations posted for Anne-Louise, one said: “Anne-Louise has been instrumental in supporting Wokingham & Emmbrook Football Club this year. As an individual she has helped to support all of the teams at the club, going over and beyond her role. Always happy to help when asked and even helping when not asked. Anne-Louise is a credit to the club and to helping keep grassroots football running and improving.”
Another added: “Wokingham & Emmbrook FC Club Secretary – outstanding contribution to the community and extremely supportive of all those connected to the club. As an under 9’s Manager her relentless assistance has made the administrative burden so much more bearable. Always friendly and helpful, at every hurdle. This is no easy feat, communicating across multiple leagues, all age groups and in excess of 75 teams, I cannot begin to imagine the lengths Anne-Louise has to go to, all this whilst juggling a family and a full-time job – Incredible. I am positive that I speak for all club Managers, Players and Parents alike, when I say we are so grateful for the time and effort you put in, in making the club tick and ultimately getting children, teenagers and adults playing the beautiful game, that is football.”
