Crowthorne Inn lead Bracknell Sunday League after opening rounds

Crowthorne Inn top the early Premier Division table with the maximum of nine points from three games followed closely by Bracknell Rangers (2nd) and Woodley Saints (3rd), both with six points though Rangers have played a game more.

Panthers have made a whirlwind start to their campaign and top Division 1 with three wins from their opening three games. Finchampstead Athletic Reserves and Bigshot occupy 2nd and 3rd positions, both with six points having played two games each.

Another team with maximum points (nine from three games) is Ashridge Park Royals who top Division 2. FC Harmanswater and Braybrooke Athletic, each with seven points from three games played, head the chasing pack.

Three teams have won their opening two games in Division 3, namely Bracknell Royals, Crowthorne A and Silver Birch A. Royals have the better goal difference and head the early table.

3M have laid down an impressive marker in Division 4 and head the table with three wins from three games.

Last weekend saw the start of a re-vamped County Cup competition where each club is only permitted to enter one team, whether that be in the Sunday Cup (for top division teams) or the Sunday Trophy. First-round ties in the Sunday Trophy saw 12 Bracknell teams progress to round 2 (to be played 24/10/21). Making it through were Bracknell Athletic, Harts of Bracknell, Woodley United, Bracknell Bisons, Hope & Anchor, Freeman Royals, Bracknell Royals, Bracknell Spartans, Bracknell Saint Germain, Winnersh Rangers, AFC Dukes and SF7.

This weekend in the Bracknell & District Sunday League

This coming weekend sees the start of the League Senior and Junior Cup competitions with one Senior Cup First Round tie and 11 Junior Cup round one ties, the pick of which sees William Twigg Reserves (Division 3) take on Bracknell Spartans Vets (Division 2), new boys Wokingham Wanderers take on Harts of Bracknell whilst there’s an all Finchampstead affair as their A team (Division 3) take on their B team (Division 4).

In the Premier Division this weekend leaders Crowthorne Inn take on Finchampstead Athletic in what should prove to be a cracker.

Elsewhere, in Division 1 there’s a repeat of the recent Sultan Cup Final as FC Showcase and Woodley United meet again (Divsion 1) whilst in the same division two of the top three lock horns as Panthers host Bigshot.

In Division 4, 3M will look to maintain their 100% start to the season with a tricky looking fixture away at Bracknell Athletic Tigers.

On 10th October the Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Cup First round ties are played with Crowthorne Inn, FC Showcase, Bracknell Rangers, Finchampstead Athletic, Woodley Saints and William Twigg all in action. Both Raglan and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW have byes.
