The Thames Valley Premier League has undergone a bit of a shake-up in preparation for the upcoming season. Berks County have been elevated into Step 6 football, Newbury have departed for the Hellenic League Divsiion Two. Their spaces have been filled by Reading YMCA, Wargrave and Yateley United.

Reading YMCA were champions of the Thames Valley Division One in 2020/2021 and are currently making improvements to their Cauldron home in Padworth. YMCA are former multiple time winners of the Premier Division title so it will be interesting to see if they can re-capture some of their former glories in the upcoming season. Wargrave were second placed finishers in Division One and will take their place in the top division of the Thames Valley League in 21/22.

Perhaps the most interesting addition to the Premier division are Yateley United who have recently been playing their football in the Hellenic League Division Two ground-sharing at Cove. Yateley United are an ambitious outfit who are currently making improvements to their Sean Devereux Park home that include a new clubhouse and floodlights.

The season kicks off on Saturday 4th September.
