Tadley Calleva will make their debut in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North next season and will have a new man in the dugout.

Former Thatcham Town defender Gareth Thomas has been handed the manager’s role following the departure of Adam Clark.

Clark has stepped down from his role with Tadley due to personal commitments according to the club’s Twitter account.

Thomas – briefly co-manager at Thatcham with Danny Robinson in 2016 – spent 15 years as a player with the Kingfishers before joining Bracknell Town last season, only to be forced to retire from the game through injury.

He joined the staff at step 5 Tadley in November 2020 under Clark and will now lead the side in their Combined Counties League adventure.

A statement on Clark’s departure says: “Due to personal commitments, current 1st Team Manager Adam Clark has decided to step down from his role. We are all sorry to see Adam leave, but fully understand his reasons for doing so and we wish him well for the future.”
