Vanarama National League Maidenhead United have extended the contract of manager Alan Devonshire, meaning that once again part two of Berkshire Football Stories podcast ‘the Alan Devonshire years’ with Steve Jinman will be postponed.

The long-serving boss is in his second spell at York Road and will now remain in the dugout until at least the end of the 2023/24 season after signing a new three year deal.

Devonshire guided the Magpies to a 13th place finish this season, the second highest position the club has finished in its history after a 12th placed finish at the end of 2017/18.

The Magpies boss has overseen a great period for the club that included winning the National League South in 2017 as well as give a platform to a number of players to ‘graduate’ to the Football League – the latest being Josh Coley who has joined Exeter City.
