Adam Crittenden on Bracknell Town, the FA Cup and turning down AFC Wimbledon

The latest episode of the Berkshire Football Stories podcast is out now and features a proper FA Cup hero in former Bracknell Town striker Adam Crittenden.

‘Critts’ came through the ranks at Bracknell and made his name during the 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons, particularly the latter when he scored the only goal of the game to setup an FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round tie with Barnet in front of over a 1,000 fans at Larges Lane.

In an open an honest interview, Adam discusses the best season of his career and what it was about that 03/04 Bracknell side that got the best out of him, why he thinks managers sometimes found it difficult to get him in their sides and how he might just have been the only player to turn down AFC Wimbledon.

As well as his own career, Critts talks about fundraising for an operation for his son which is, at the time of writing, over halfway to its target and the support that has been offered by current Bracknell Town boss Bobby Wilkinson. You can find out more about it and make a donation here.
