Reading Women have announced a list of eight players who will be departing the club this summer following the decision to end the 2019/20 season.
The Royals Women were confirmed as finishing fifth for the second reason in succession in the FA WSL, confirming Reading as the fifth best English women’s club side in the country.
It looks though like the summer of 2020 could be one of big change at the club with the possibility of more games being played at the Madejski Stadium after London Irish Rugby Club vacated their tenancy, while it remains to be seen how many new faces boss Kelly Chambers is able to bring in.
Here, Steve Gabb gives a run down on the departing Royals:
Remi Allen

One of Reading’s star performers this season. England international Allen will be a big loss for the Royals having originally arrived from Birmingham City in 2016. The midfielder scored three goals in her twelve appearances last season.
Rachael Laws

Goalkeeper Laws has played for the Royals since 2016 after signing from Sunderland. She played five games last season but has been a deputy for Grace Moloney for the last couple of campaigns. She is also on the coaching team at Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East Woodley United.
Millie Farrow

Former Chelsea and Bristol player Farrow played nine times for Reading last season, and her Twitter videos have certainly kept our spirits up during lockdown.
Maz Pacheco
Former Doncaster Belles and Liverpool full-back Pacheco played nine times for Reading last season and has played England at all youth levels from U17 to U21.
Jo Potter

England international Potter has played thirty-five times for her country and turned out for Reading nine times last season scoring a solitary goal.
Sophie Howard

Scotland international Howard played eleven times for the Royals last season.
Maxime Bennink
Young Dutch forward Bennink has found it hard to make an impact at Reading and has been released after a year with the club.
Charlie Escourt
After multiple loan moves away from Reading, Charlie Escourt is now free to find a new permanent club. The Welsh international midfielder had spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic.
The new FAWSL season is provisionally due to start in early September so it will be interesting to see who Kelly Chambers brings in to bolster her Reading Women squad.
