A good night on the pitch on Tuesday night was made better by a good night off it as the club won the BetVictor Isthmian League South Central Division One Manager of the Month and Golden Glove award.
The latter came with a caveat owing to Bracknell using two goalkeepers during January, but the manager of the month award was all Bobby Wilkinson as the Robins won three of four league games, drawing the other and beating Lewes in the Velocity Trophy.
The award, sponsored by Anderson Travel, was revealed on the Isthmian League website as Bracknell’s run of form see’s them chasing down a play off spot: “Bracknell Town didn’t have the start to the season they were hoping for, but January saw them begin to cook with gas, and the top clubs are now looking over their shoulder and worrying about the approach of the Robins.”

The AB1 Golden Glove award came the Robins way on the back of a run of clean sheets: “Four league matches played and three clean sheets- only Ashford Town found their way through the Robins rearguard, and they still left with nothing. Given there was more than one goalkeeper during this period, we’ll leave the Robins to decide who gets the golden gloves!”
During January’s league games, goalkeeper coach Jason Matthews played all four league games while Sonny Wheeler had the number one shirt for the Velocity Trophy game. Matthews also featured in the Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup tie at the end of the month at Hungerford Town – but that fixture wouldn’t count toward the award.
Congratulations to both Bobby and Jason for the awards.
