Evo Stik Southern League South Division One side Thatcham Town have confirmed a number of players have been retained by the club.

The West Berkshire side finished 11th last season, their first back at step four since voluntary relegation at the end of the 2013/14 season.

That was on the back of an unbelievable 2017/18 when Danny Robinson’s side were Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division champions and Buildbase FA Vase winners – the first side from Berkshire to win the competition in its history.

The club have tweeted that long serving Tom Melledew and Gareth Thomas are both staying at Waterside Park along with Michael Miller and Curtis Angell.

As well as those two, Kyle Tooze – a mid season signing from Mangostfield United and George Jeacock while Jack Alexander and Scott Rees will also remain.

The club have confirmed a number of friendlies for pre season including a Vase winners ‘play off’ when they (as former holders) will visit Chertsey Town – the current holders on Saturday 3rd August.

All the Kingfisher’s pre season friendlies, as well as all the others across Berkshire, are listed in our 2019/20 pre season fixture list here.
